Ahoy! Did you know that marine transportation is a very important part of our everyday lives? Boats not only carry people to other parts of the world, but they also carry many of the things that we use every day, like appliances and cars. Ships from all over the world come to the Port of Humboldt Bay to load and unload cargo. The cargo that is being loaded onto the ships is called exported cargo. Do you know what Humboldt Bay's main export is? Here's a hint...it's tall and covered with brown bark and green needles. You guessed it, it's timber.
